Touch International Boosts Touch Screen Functionality with MulTI-Touch

AUSTIN, TEXAS - May 12, 2010 - Touch International, a global touch screen manufacturer and solutions provider, is unveiling its newest projected capacitive product line - MulTI-Touch - at Display Week 2010 in Seattle, Wash.   Pushing the envelope for projected capacitive capabilities, MulTI-Touch works with finger, glove and pen input, functions in wet environments and supports up to 10-finger touch, expanding traditional touch screen capabilities and enhancing touch screen functionality.

Available for demonstration during Display Week 2010 at booth 1319, MulTI-Touch technology allows for outstanding optics and high performance, even in extreme environments. Its versatile capabilities make it an excellent fit for many applications in the military, medical and industrial fields as well as for outdoor uses.

10.1" MulTI-Touch Module

“MulTI-Touch is a breakthrough for projected capacitive technology because it is very accurate and has multiple input options,” explains Kelvin Tran, Touch International’s Senior Vice-President of Engineering. “For example, pen input is extremely important to have, especially in Asian cultures because they have character based languages. This technology is adding a whole new dimension to how we use touch screens and it has the capabilities to be used in applications that were previously unable to use touch screens because of limitations with water, pen input and gloves.”

Touch International's MulTI-Touch technology will be available in 8.4" and 10.1" formats the first week of June with additional sizes expected by Q4 2010.

Features of MulTI-Touch Include:

  • Signature Capture Capable
  • Compatible with Windows 7
  • Works with Environmental Water Spray
  • True Touch with Gesture (No Ghost Points)
  • Works with up to 3mm Thick Glass or Plastic Cover Glass
  • Hardware and Firmware Can be Modified to Meet Stringent EMI Standards
