For Immediate Release: Touch International Donates Supplies
to Support AAC Device Give-Away Program
for Individuals with Disabilities
Leading touch screen manufacturer has partnered with PRC to award
free AAC devices to 40 speech-impaired children and adults worldwide
Austin, TX - September 26, 2006 Touch International, Inc., a global manufacturer
of high-quality touch screens and touch screen components, has donated multiple touch screens valued in the thousands of dollars to support the '40 for 40' Program launched this year by Prentke Romich Company (PRC) of Wooster, OH.
PRC is celebrating its 40th year as a worldwide leader in the field of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technology by donating 40 of its powerful speech-output devices to individuals with disabilities who lack funding assistance and would not otherwise be able to obtain a communication aid.
Touch International, which provides touch screens used in PRC's industry-leading devices, was eager to participate in the device give-away program. "Communication is very important," said Michael Woolstrum, Touch International CEO. "Many people who are unable to communicate in traditional ways have found a way to communicate via touch, thanks to technological advances. It is Touch International's goal to assist in any way possible."
"We are grateful to Touch International for its generous support of our '40 for 40' Program," stated PRC President Dave Moffatt. "We are a mission-based company, dedicated to enabling individuals with disabilities to communicate without limitations. We are proud to include Touch International among our business partners who support us in this important mission."
