Touch International goes after Competitor's Jugular
Drop-in Replacement Solutions for Competitor's Capacitive Technology Get Even Better
Las Vegas, NV - October 5, 2004 - Touch International Corporation, a leading manufacturer of touch technology, today announced that it has expanded its capacitive product family to include TIDMC2000, its next generation controller, additional screen sizes, and its new ruggedized touch technology RGTouch designed for high use, high abuse public access environments where added durability is a key requirement. With these new additions, Touch International, offers one of the most comprehensive, competitively priced, Capacitive product lines on the market today.
"As a result of its patents and the purchase of competitor's capacitive technology, 3M Touch Systems has had a monopoly on the capacitive market," commented Michael Woolstrum, Touch International's CEO. "Consequently, they have been able to charge a premium price." "Touch International offers a number of different sensor sizes as drop-in replacements for 3M's products, and our newest controller interprets the 3M Touch Systems output protocol," said Woolstrum. "It's a complete capacitive solution that 3M customers can migrate to seamlessly without seeing any change, other than increased profits because they haven't had to pay as much for their capacitive technology."
The TIDMC2000 is designed to support Touch International's complete capacitive product line, and offers tremendous flexibility and outstanding performance in a smaller footprint. This feature rich controller provides accurate touch response, support for extended temperature ranges, and is available in a smaller footprint.
In addition to the launch of its TIDMC2000 controller, and additional screen sizes, Touch International launched RGTouch, its newest ruggedized Capacitive product designed for high abuse, high vandal environments last month. "This product meets a specified market need," said Kevin Clowes, Touch International's Capacitive Product Manager. "Many of our customers need the added durability that RGTouch with its laminated tempered glass offers. Our in-house and field testing has shown that RGTouch surpasses the UL 60950-1 Impact test, and can withstand the abuse from a wide range of physical threats," Clowes responded. "RGTouch is also available with light control film for added privacy and security useful for ATM and higher security environments," he said.
"Customers now have an alternative supplier to 3M Touch Systems with high quality drop-in replacement products that are designed to integrate seamlessly into their current project," stated Woolstrum.
